WebI've been playing green hell for over a year with a buddy of mine. At first it was a super challenging game and we sunk hours into it looking for good places to build and generally getting better. Lately it hasn't felt challenging, we give ourselves goals; all metal everything, plant every plantable, but even those haven't gotten stale. WebI liked the difficulty at full release. Played through it once and enjoyed it. I tried to play through the game a 2nd time half a year later but there was a bug that made resources spawn way too much and I stopped playing because it was too easy. Nowadays there are respawning trees and farming, I imagine those make the game a little bit easier too.

If you’re just going for the trophy instead of actually building camps and playing then just go to all the important spots to gather the items needed to finish the game and skip the extra areas. Only build camps and fires when needed. Did it this way and finished in about two hours with a friend.

The day cycle is really fast too. I tried to play the Story Mode with this difficulty yesterday, and I died 3 times (survived 2-3 days max). The "walk in the park" easy mode doesn't have much danger in it (no hostile natives, no predators).
